WHAT IS A PILATES REFORMER?
Really, it’s not a torture machine! It’s fun and easy to use!
The Pilates reformer helps one establish torso stability and postural alignment while working peripheral limbs in a range of motion. The adjustable springs allow for progressive resistance, which helps to lengthen and strengthen the muscles rather than building bulk. It makes for an effective, no-impact stretching and toning workout that is friendly to the joints.
IF IT’S MY 1ST TIME DOING PILATES. CAN I DO THE CLASSES OR SHOULD I DO PRIVATE SESSIONS FIRST?
We do recommend taking at least 1 private session to get the general idea of how to do Pilates and to get familiar with working out on the reformer.
If you have chronic back pain, are recovering from an injury or a pre/post natal, we do ask that you take a private session first to assess your fitness level. There will be a need to modify routines for you and see if classes are the best fit for you. We also offer Beginner classes, so please start here if you are new as it will get you the most out of your pilates workout.
HOW DO I SCHEDULE MY GROUP REFORMER CLASSES?
We recommend all our members to become familiar with our online booking system, as all classes must be reserved online in order to confirm your spot in a class. No walk-ins will be accepted. If you need assistance scheduling your classes online or creating an account, forgot your password, or need more info, call us or e-mail us.
DO YOU HAVE A MOBILE APP FOR YOUR ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM?
We sure do! Download the free iphone app here or our free android application here.
HOW DO I SCHEDULE A PRIVATE OT DUET?
If you would like to schedule a private or duet. Go to the APPOINTMENTS tab in your account and make a request for the type of appointment, with whom, and when and we will call or email you back a confirmation within 24 hours. We must have a credit card on file to confirm the appointment.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING/ WEAR TO CLASS?
- We do require that you wear clean socks. It’s best to have socks with grippers, which we sell at the studio for purchase.
- Bring a towel for all that sweating you’ll be doing. Hydration is always important, so don’t forget your water bottle.
- Wear comfortable clothes that you can stretch in. Be aware that you lay down a lot and have your legs in the air so wide open legged pants or shorts, or really small shorts may not be a wise choice. We know you’re hot but some things are better left to the imagination.
- We prefer no jewelry. Necklaces can get caught in the springs and easily break. Also, rings… especially those beautiful diamonds can rip the padding on our expensive equipment.
- Please leave your phone on vibrate or off when you enter the studio. They can be very distracting to the clients and instructors.
- No strong perfumes, as some students are allergic.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTICE PILATES?
We think 2 times a week is maintaining and 3 times or more a week will change your body. Depending on your fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more or less time to recover. Everybody is different, but like any fitness routine consistency is key to get results. It is important to allow your body to properly recover and repair between classes, so get to know your body. It is not uncommon for people come 5 or 6 times a week, which is why we offer such awesome monthly membership rates.
WHAT IF I CAN'T COME TO CLASS AND I HAVE ALREADY BEEN CONFIRMED? WILL I BE CHARGED?
Yes you will. We require 12-hour ONLINE cancellation. Please review our cancellation policy.
If you purchase a package at a discounted rate, please review our cancellation policy on the Specials and Promotions page.
If you purchase a monthly membership under the "Pilate-ologist" category or the “Newbie” 1st month unlimited and you no show, your class will be forfeited and a $25 fee will be charged to your card on file. If you late cancel online, a $10 fee will be charged to your card on file and your class will be forfeited, even if your spot was given to a waiting customer. Sorry, no exceptions.
All changes to your schedule can easily be made to your account on our online booking system.
Sorry there are no exceptions!!
CAN I FREEZE MY ACCOUNT?
Yes, we offer this perk to our auto-pay members for travel and other personal reasons. However, we do have a few restrictions on our Freeze Policy which you can view here.
WHY CAN’T I CALL OR EMAIL TO BOOK OR RESERVE A GROUP CLASS?
Our online booking system is automated which enables us to provide over 50 classes a week, keep our rates down, and provide our clients with the highest quality group Pilates classes. For our customers’ convenience, you are able to schedule and cancel classes online or through our mobile app. We do not accept calls or emails to book or cancel classes, so please book wisely. We will return phone calls and emails within 24 hours.
WHAT IF I’M STUCK IN TRAFFIC OR HAVE AN EMERGENCY?
There is a 15 minute grace period. If you arrive more then 15 minutes late then your place in class can be given to a waiting customer and you will be considered a no show.
We would hate for an emergency to occur, but we regret that we must still implement our 12 hour cancellation policy. We lose money if you late cancel or no show. Please know it’s not personal it’s just business.
HOW DOES THE 15% OFF FOR REFERRING A FRIEND WORK?
Don’t’ you love saving money? You can save 15% every month if you want by referring friends to us. If your friend purchases a monthly membership (yes, it can even be the Newbie 1st Month Unlimited) or a package of 5 classes or more you get the discount off your next monthly membership or a package of 5 classes or more. We have to process the discount on our end so be sure to email us if your friend makes the purchase and make sure they write your name down next to “referred by”on the release waiver when they come in the 1st time.
You can get 1 discount per friend and the discounts are good towards group Pilates classes only.
I’M PREGANANT, IS IT OK TO DO PILATES?
Pilates is a great form of exercise to do while pregnant. If you become pregnant while currently taking Pilates with us, then we are able to allow you to continue with your doctor’s consent at each trimester and we also require a private session at each trimester for group class modifications. If you are a new client and are pregnant, you will only be eligible for private sessions. If you have a group of 4 friends or more who are all pre/post natal, we can also set up a workshop specific to your group. View our Workshops page or contact us directly for details.
MAY I BRING MY CHILD/CHILDREN TO CLASS IF THEY SIT QUIETLY WHILE I WORK OUT?
We do love to meet your adorable little ones, but due to safety and insurance concerns we cannot allow children to stay in the studio while class is in session. It is not safe to have little hands near the machines or to have other clients distracted while they are in poses that require concentration and balance. |
